Cwm Orog Shooting Ranges is a dedicated firearms training and shooting practice facility built around professionalism, discipline, and safety. Our goal is to provide a structured environment where individuals can develop marksmanship skills with confidence and responsibility.
We welcome both new shooters seeking foundational guidance and experienced individuals aiming to refine precision and long-range performance. Every aspect of our club is designed to promote controlled training, technical improvement, and strict adherence to safety standards.
All three ranges are available on every booking. Shoot what you want, from where you want, at the distance that suits you.
A 100-yard zeroing range alongside 500 and 600-yard targets, set against the open valley — ideal for shooters wanting real distance and a proper test of conditions.
Nestled amongst our trees, this is where our zeroing and 360 yard range is located. Best accessed via car, but you can walk to it via a 200 metre uphill walk from our Range Control.
A 150 to 250 yard range that overlooks our pond. Next to our Range Control for easy access.
There are shooting ranges, and then there’s Cwm Orog. Perched on the edge of the Welsh mountains, our site gives you variety, freedom, and scenery in equal measure. Whether it’s a club day out or a small group wanting to try different distances, this is the place to do it properly.
The range sits on a Welsh mountainside surrounded by dense woodland and open valley. It's genuinely one of the most scenic places you can shoot in Wales.
Every booking — whether your club or a group of three — gets unrestricted access to all huts, shooting positions, and ranges for your session.
From 100-yard zeroing to 600-yard open-valley shots, steel Ram targets to clay pigeons, practical shotgun to long-range rifle you won't run out of things to shoot at.
We hire out the site and step back. No supervision, no structure imposed on you just your group, your firearms, and your day.
Cwm Orog operates within UK firearms law, straightforward and without fuss.
Open to licensed individuals, or to club members shooting under their club’s rules.
We don’t supervise your session it’s your group, your firearms, and your responsibility on the day.
We hire out the ground and step back. No structure imposed on how you use your time.
Cwm Orog is a range, not a club we let the ground out to individuals (minimum group of three) and to clubs, and it’s yours to use as you see fit for the session. We operate within UK firearms law as standard; beyond that, it’s down to you and your group to shoot responsibly. What we focus on is giving you the space, the views, and the variety of ranges to make the most of your day.
We accommodate a wide variety of disciplines a broad choice by design. Whatever you shoot, there’s a position for it here.
Please note: All shooting must be conducted in line with current UK firearms legislation. Shooters must hold a valid licence or be a member of a registered club whose rules they adhere to.
“The views alone are worth the trip. We spent a full day cycling between the short range and the 600 yard lines couldn’t believe how much ground there was to cover.”
Club Secretary, Powys Rifle Club
“Booking was simple, the site was all ours for the day. Three of us ran through three different disciplines without moving between sessions. Brilliant setup.”
Full-Bore Shooter
“We come every season. The long-range lines in particular are superb — natural wind conditions, beautiful backdrop, and nothing between you and the target but open mountain air.”
South Wales Shooting Society
