Experience air and black powder pistol shooting surrounded by the breathtaking valleys of the Welsh uplands. Ancient woodland, open skies, and stillness that lets you focus on nothing but your mark.
Tucked high in the Welsh mountains, Cwm Orog is where shooting becomes an escape. The valley stretches below, the forest edges close, and the only competition is against yourself. Come for the marksmanship. Stay for the tranquility.
Shoot with the sweep of the Welsh valley before you. Ancient hills roll into the distance while you line up your shot.
Our covered firing positions sit at the edge of native forest. Dappled light, birdsong, and the scent of pine accompany every session.
High in the Welsh uplands, the air is clear and still. A world away from the noise just you, your target, and the landscape.
There’s a stillness here that you won’t find at indoor ranges or crowded grounds. The Welsh mountains rise around you, the valley falls away below, and for a few hours the world shrinks to just you, your pistol, and the target across the clearing.
Covered firing positions mean you can shoot in any weather, but the real draw is the setting itself — native forest at your back, open sky above, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear your own breathing. This is where shooting becomes something more.
Perched high in the Welsh uplands, our range offers views across open valley and ancient moorland.
Morning mist rolling through the valley, afternoon sun warming the hills each session brings a different atmosphere.
Shoot in comfort from covered firing points that blend into the landscape. Stay dry, stay focused.
Red kites wheel overhead. Skylarks rise from the heather. This is shooting as it should be immersed in the wild.
There’s no rush here. Your session is yours to use as you wish shoot, take breaks, enjoy the view. Support is always available, but you set the rhythm.
Experienced range officers are present throughout your session to offer guidance and ensure everyone shoots safely.
Simple, straightforward safety briefing at the start of every session so you know exactly what to expect.
Booked sessions give you private use of the facility. No crowds, no rush just you and your group at your own pace.
The range control building offers shelter, hot drinks, and a place to rest between shooting. Take your time.
Please note: All shooting must be conducted in line with current UK firearms legislation. Shooters must hold a valid licence or be a member of a registered club whose rules they adhere to.

“The setting is what makes it. I’ve shot at plenty of ranges, but nowhere else do you have the sweep of a Welsh valley in front of you. It changes the whole experience.”
